G-Resources is an Asia-Pacific gold company, based and listed in Hong Kong, and is operating the Martabe Gold Mine in North Sumatera. The open cut mine, with an average strip ratio of less than 1.4:1, and a conventional processing circuit incorporating jaw crushing, SAG and ball milling and CIL, processes in excess of 4.5mtpa to produce greater than 250,000 ounces of gold and 3 million ounces of silver annually. The Martabe Gold Mine is striving to maintain an excellent track record in responsible mining practices, and clear commitment to compliance to mining regulations as well as developing and managing mining activities with the involvement of local communities.

To strengthen the existing management team and to ensure the achievement of the company objectives, the Martabe Gold Mine is looking for candidate to fill the role:

 

BOILERMAKER/FABRICATION SUPERVISOR (PRO 1171)

This position will be based at Martabe site and reports directly to Senior Mechanical Coordinator. This position is for Fixed plant within the Process plant. No Mobile work is involved.

This position would be responsible to provide ‘hands-on’ support for the process plant maintenance team. This position is to ensure that all the rebuild maintenance components, modifications, servicing and installation activities carried out by the Rebuild maintenance team are performed in a professional, safe, diligent, timely, cost efficient and cost effective manner, whilst taking into consideration the priority requirements of the Process Plants and associated infrastructure’s mechanical plant, equipment & apparatus being attended to.

This role is for a specialist who has rebuild experience in process plant items such as fabrication and welding components, Wear plates, rebuilding of high wear components gear boxes, pumps, valves, machining skills to eliminate rework in the mechanical departments.

Candidates for this role would be expected to have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Graduated from Polytechnic / Technical training institute or approved Apprenticeship with Welder / Boilermaker qualifications.
  • Minimum 10 years relevant mineral processing plant experience with Crushing, Grinding equipment and minimum of 5 years at a supervisory level within the mining sector.
  • Familiar with crushers, wear plates, fabrication and workshop equipment.
  • Experience within a rebuild workshop environment.
  • Must have an excellent understanding of the English language and be able to communicate both written and spoken.
  • Ability to plan and supervise the work of others based on PM schedules, shutdown and breakdown requirements on a shift, daily and weekly basis.
  • Possess a valid recognised Driver’s licence.
  • Must be able to interpret mechanical engineering drawings and communicate to other tradesmen.
  • Ability to develop ‘Safe Working Procedures’ and demonstrate these to subordinates.
  • Ability to estimate the amounts of labour, materials, and equipment required for tasks / projects.
  • Computer literacy with Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook and Internet.
  • There is No Mobile plant work within this role.

 

MECHANICAL FITTER – INDONESIAN NATIONAL POSITION (PRO 1170)

This position will be based at Martabe site in the processing plant, working on schedule 4 weeks on; 2 weeks off and reports directly to Mechanical Superintendent.

There is No mobile plant with this role, the role is based in the Process Plant site of Martabe Goldmine maintaining fixed plant.

The role of the Mechanical Fitter is responsible for :

  • The role of the Process Plant – Mechanical Fitter is to perform ‘hands-on’ maintenance of mechanical equipment in the Process Plant and ancillary infrastructure and plant as directed by the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisors.
  • Be proactive in working safely and promoting safe work practices
  • Remove and report hazards, and promptly report all incidents and accident using PTAR system
  • Understand PTARs Golden Rules
  • Be environmentally responsible in all aspects of work including waste disposal.
  • Maintain a clean working environment, free from hazards by performing proper job and workplace house keeping
  • Apply correct manual handling techniques, isolation /tag out, working at heights and confined space practises and procedures
  • Maintain PTAR vehicles, tools and equipment in a clean, safe and serviceable condition at all times reporting any loss or damage immediately
  • Use PTAR maintenance software package to record work done and history notes
  • Develop Take ‘5s’ and JSHA as required for all work you perform before the work is commenced

Candidates for this role would be expected to have the following qualifications and experience:

  1. Mechanical Fitter Trades Qualification by a recognised institution or approved Apprenticeship with Mechanical Fitting qualifications
  2. Experience in similar position within the mining, oil & gas or similar heavy industrial environment.
  3. A basic understanding of Indonesian mines related legislation, laws and acts
  4. Must have specialised in fixed plant maintenance along with timely scheduled maintenance component change out programs.
  5. Ability to fault find and trouble shoot to solve issues with mining process equipment.
  6. Able to read P&ID’s, drawings procedures, work instructions along with following these step by step.
  7. Process plant equipment rebuild experience
  8. Possess a valid recognised Driver’s licence
  9. Reasonable written English language communication skills
  10. Specialist training in process plant equipment
  11. Prior work experience working in a modern CIL Gold Plants
  12. Basic understanding of ‘Computer Maintenance Management Systems’ (CMMS)
  13. The ability to prioritise workload and work effectively under pressure
